Wineglass Bay Cruises

Experience the exquisite beauty of Wineglass Bay and the Freycinet Peninsula aboard the Schouten Passage II, a luxury 2 level eco-catamaran, which can carry up to 150 passengers. Be sure to book in advance to get the day of your choice as understandably the cruise is very popular.

Departing from the Office located on the Coles Bay Jetty, the journey around to Wineglass Bay is spectacular. The vessel will stop frequently and allow you to gaze at the sheer granite cliffs, get up close to the wildlife and provide informative commentary on landmarks, wildlife and history.

Wineglass Bay is beautiful and remote, a shimmering crescent of white sand fringes at the edge of a perfect turquoise sea where you will enjoy a Tasmanian Ploughman's lunch at anchor in relaxed style. Your delicious lunch is a bento box full of fresh local produce, prepared by the Freycinet Lodge. Taste local beverages and cool-climate wines available in nature's best wine bar in the wilderness.

Your skipper and guide will be in daily contact with local fisherman to ensure you get the best wildlife experience possible. Twice a year between September and December and then May and July you may even see migrating whales. Most days there will be seals or porpoises and a range of pelagic birds, including albatrosses. While the mutton birds are here you will often see them in rafts of thousands, fishing in the Tasman Sea. You will definitely see a huge sea eagle’s nest and with luck the magnificent birds themselves may be gliding effortlessly above you.

Our friendly and knowledgeable crew will be on hand to guide you and ensure you have a wonderful day cruising with us.
