Re-opening for the season on 22 September.
The cool waters of Governor Island Marine Reserve are home to lots of interesting marine life. Expect to see bull kelp, strap weed and cray weed sheltering cardinal fish, cod, boarfish, red gurnard, perch and zebra fish.
Sometimes a school of silvery jack mackerel will swim by. You will usually see large abalone and crayfish (now officially called rock lobster) and may be lucky enough to spot an octopus. Closed during winter months.
