Sheoaks has a 2 night minimum stay from 17 December till the end of January and from 19 - 25 March 2008.

 

Bed and breakfast

$180/double, $145/single.
Tariff includes a delicious cooked breakfast featuring Tasmanian ingredients.

Sample breakfast menu:
freshly made apple and orange juice;
Bircher muesli;
scrambled eggs with parsley, chives and Tasmanian smoked salmon;
toast with a choice of home made preserves;
tea/coffee.

 

Walker’s lunch, $13.50/person.

Sample menu:
hearty sandwich or roll e.g. cold lamb with salad;
sultana, craisin and bran loaf;
fruit in season;
Tetrapak fruit juice or a thermos of tea or coffee.

Stay at home lunch, $13.50/person.

Sample menu:

home made pea and ham soup;
hot buttered roll;
fruit and home made biscuits;
tea or coffee.

Car explorers lunch, $15/person

Winter is a great time for exploring, but many of the lunch

places in the area are closed.

          Sample menu:

          a thermos of hearty home made soup;

          filled bread roll;

          buttered fruit loaf;

          apple or pear;

          a thermos of tea or coffee.

Celebration lunch hamper, $25/person.

Sample menu:

chicken salad with water chestnuts;
tossed green salad;

minted tomato and orange salad;
fresh bread rolls;
sparkling wine;
raspberries, grapes, local cheeses and water biscuits;
home made biscuits;
thermos of tea or coffee.


Evening meal, $40/person, including drinks.

Sample winter menu:
local walnuts, Tasmanian blue cheese, salmon paté, sliced Huon Valley pears and water biscuits;
beef ragout, creamy mashed Dutch cream potatoes, broccolli and honeyed carrots;
blackberry and apple crumble;

wine, tea and coffee.

Sample summer menu:

herbed cream cheese, bier sausage, salmon spread, crudités, slices of local Turkish bread;

lemon chicken with oven roasted potato chunks and a crisp tossed salad;

cherry and orange sorbet with sweet fruit salsa;

wine, tea and coffee.

Barbecue alternative, usually served on the deck.
As above but with barbecued meat and salads, eg home made hamburgers flavoured with fresh herbs, or marinated pork spare ribs, or Persian lamb shasliks, or spicy beef kebabs.
Cumin and porcini flavoured Puy lentil burgers are a vegetarian option.
Salad accompaniments, e.g. potato salad using local Dutch creams and roasted sweet potatoes, vine ripened local tomatoes with French dressing and basil mint, lettuce, watercress and orange salad, minted watermelon salad.

1 night celebration package, $330/double, includes

special evening meal, 1 night’s accommodation, cooked breakfast, and celebration lunch.
Sample menu for evening meal:
pre dinner nibbles, as above but with a greater choice including locally made crayfish paté if available;
chicken breasts stuffed with spinach and mushrooms served with green beans and oven roasted baby Bintje potatoes, kumara and onions;
strawberries Romanof;
wine to accompany meal;
tea and coffee with d'Anver's chocolates.

 

2 night celebration package, $590/double, includes

1 evening meal, one special evening meal, 2 cooked breakfasts, 1 celebration lunch hamper, 1 walker’s or stay at home lunch, 2 night’s accommodation.
